Ragdale Foundation Artist Residency

A 10-day break from the normal day-to-day spent onsite to focus on a chosen project and new materials, to inspire art viewers to reflect on their relationships with the environment by visually projecting viewers into the landscapes through painting on mirrors and continuing the dialogue about people's role in the preservation of nature.

[Below: the studio building I called home for the residency period, as well as an example of my typical work station. Also peppered through the images are some of scenes from the Shaw Prairie and a sampling of corresponding paintings, including a detail image and a couple in-progress paintings. The last few photos are of additional scenes from the beautiful Shaw Prairie that the Ragdale Foundation painting studio looked out over. It might interest you to note how the snow progressively disappeared during my short stay.]

IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT ART IS A TRYST. FOR IN THE JOY OF IT, MAKER AND BEHOLDER MEET.
